CDS Separation Technology

CDS Separation Technology -

Leaders in separation technology

CDS designs and develops separation technology that makes the oil and gas production process more efficient and less expensive. Our separation technology, research and development, coupled with our modeling techniques and our in-house testing facilities constitute what we proudly call the CDS approach. Continuous innovation and comprehensive knowledge of the production process are hallmarks of this approach.

Our high performance subsea and topsides technology ensures increased throughput, reduced operating costs and prolongs the life of field. The return on investment by use of CDS technology is viewed as very favorable: saving weight and space, and minimizing downtime.

Through our worldwide regional support offices, CDS provides consultation and design solutions to more than 200 clients worldwide. This includes companies such as StatoilHydro, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, ADNOC, Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, Total, NIOC, PDO, AGIP, Maersk, Hydro, Petrobras, Petrocanada, Talisman, Unocal, Woodside and British Gas.

Our framework for this concept includes:

Conventional and inline separation
Onshore, offshore and subsea
CFD modeling
R&D
Increased production
Reduced CAPEX and OPEX
Prolonged production of wells
Environmental solutions
Immediate return on investment

The CDS approach

CDS leads the market in the development and use of innovative separation technology. Since process parameters and separation requirements vary in each specific application, our approach targets the process as a whole, as well as the individual components of it. Only by reviewing these details, can we deliver optimum results with an immediate return on investment.

Analysis, design, testing and optimization are critical steps of the CDS approach to the overall separation process. Our methods include computational fluid dynamics, for analyzing turbulent flows in interaction with complex surfaces, which are verified with our extensive in-house and on-site test capabilities.

Flow distribution is critical in all separation processes, whether it concerns separation of gas and liquid or separation of different liquids. In today's environment as vessel sizes are reduced or additional capacity is required from the existing production train then the layout of the system as a whole and the design of the individual components must be reviewed.

CDS computational fluid dynamic modeling provides an accurate representation of the expected flow profiles. This leads to the precise prediction of the performance of the system.
