Landmark: First Project under the Woodside Frame Agreement

Woodside Energy Limited are developing the Enfield oilfield, located in Permit WA 271P, off Australia’s North West Cape, using subsea wells, manifolds and flowline systems tied back to a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading System (FPSO).

The ship-shaped, double-hulled FPSO will be moored to a disconnectable turret approximately 2 miles (3 km) west of the Enfield reservoir in approximately 2,000 ft (600 m). The production and processing  facilities will be sized for about 140,000 bpd total produced liquids. These facilities are sized to accommodate future tie-in of other prospects in the vicinity.

The Enfield reservoir will be developed using a subsea production system initially comprising five production wells at a central cluster, three water injection wells to the north and three to the south of the production cluster.

The area is subject to severe cyclone activity, and so the FPSO utilizes a disconnectable mooring system. Produced gas will be utilized as fuel for the FPSO and the excess will be gas reinjected into two gas injection wells located to the south of the reservoir. Crude oil will be exported via a stern-mounted floating hose system into nondedicated, tandem-moored offtake tankers.

The subsea facilities comprise five satellite production wells producing through one manifold. The subsea tree is of a novel OXT design of concentric completion which allows the tubing string to be run at the same time as the subsea tree in open water, thus saving trip times.
