Total Skirne Byggve

Total Skirne Byggve

Norway Block 25/5

Landmark: Equipment delivery in 10 months from order

Skirne and Byggve are gas condensate fields located to the east of the Heimdal platform. Skirne was discovered in 1990 and Byggve in 1991. The Byggve satellite is located 10 miles (16 km) east of the Heimdal platform. The Skirne satellite is 15 miles (24 km) east of the platform and is daisy chained from Byggve.

The development is based on these two single subsea satellite stations, both in 390 ft (120 m) water depth. In 2002, the Skirne Byggve plan for development and operation (STFT) was submitted and the Norwegian Cabinet approved the development of the fields. The Skirne Byggve team focused on developing the fields, making use of the Heimdal Gas Center for treatment and export. The condensates are exported to Scotland via the Norwegian subsea Vesterled pipeline. Production of the two subsea wells started in early 2004 and reached a production rate of 34,000 boepd in 2004. The expected production duration is estimated to be six years.
